Our expert's take
Choose the 6300 if you want a proper awning without giving up your awning rail. It mounts on the roof, so the rail stays free for a tent or other add-ons, and you still get up to 2.5 m of covered space. Before you order, measure your van and pick a length at least 40 cm shorter, then make sure you have the Thule roof adapter that matches your roof profile. If you are not sure which adapter you need, call us first and we will check it with you.

Frequently asked questions
What size Thule Omnistor 6300 do I need?
Lengths run from 2.60 m to 5.00 m. As a rule of thumb, choose an awning at least 40 cm shorter than your vehicle. The 2.60 m size projects 2.00 m and every other size projects 2.50 m. If you are not sure, call us on 0330 122 7773 with your van's make, model and wheelbase.
Does the 6300 come with a roof adapter?
No. The 6300 is roof mounted and needs a Thule adapter matched to your vehicle's roof profile, which is sold separately. For the Citroën Jumper H2, Peugeot Boxer H2, Fiat Ducato H2, Mercedes Sprinter H2, VW Crafter and Vauxhall Movano (2021 onwards) we sell the 6300 as a kit with the correct adapter. For any other vehicle, contact us before you order.
Can I fit it myself?
Professional installation is recommended. The awning has to be mounted on the correct adapter for your roof, and the Downloads section has the Thule manual if you want to see what is involved.
Is it manual or electric?
It is manual. You wind it out with the smooth Rapid Gear crank (a telescopic hand crank is included) and it sets up in about five minutes. A retrofit motor kit is available if you want to add power later.
Does it have tension arms?
Sizes of 3.75 m and longer have integrated tension arms, with provision for a third support leg. Tension arms are optional on the shorter sizes.
Can I add a tent or side panels?
There is no tent rail as standard. The 6300 is compatible with Thule QuickFit, Residence G3 and Panorama, and the Thule Awning Fixation Kit TO 6200/6300/9200 adds the rail you need to hang a QuickFit or EasyLink tent.
What is in the box, and what warranty does it have?
You get the Thule Omnistor 6300 awning, a telescopic hand crank, Quick Lock support legs, a storage bag and the instruction manual. It comes with a two-year manufacturer warranty, and we will help you with any claim.
